OMD2nails – Chevron

OMD2nails-chevron-1Good evening lovelies, I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was awesome πŸ™‚

Today’s 20th day of OMD2, which means it’s time for chevron. I have don chevron before, but never like this. I don’t have any vinyls or stamps for the pattern and so I decided to go for checkered chevron. I really liked it, but next time I might go for slimmer ones.

I do hope it fits to the theme. I was thinking of either using mint or coral for non accent nails, coral won :P. Since I did few green manis past few days and I really wanted to use this untried one I had.

I can definitely see myself doing more this kind of chevrons in the future, probably as accent nails.

OMD2nails-chevron-2Polishes used:

  • base – Sally Hansen Hard as Nails nail strengthener, Manhattan Nail Polish base coat
  • white – Barry M Matt White
  • black – China Glaze Liquid Leather
  • silver – Misslyn Night Fever
  • coral – Misslyn Sunrise
  • Seche Vite top coat

The chevron pattern was painted using a striper brush and a small detail brush. First I painted the borders with white and then filled some of the parts in like on chess board. After that I filled in the rest of the squares with black.

For the coral polish, I used 3 coats and for the silver one 2 coats.

If you haven’t already, check out my ombre nails I posted earlier today from HERE. Also check out what other girls came up with for chevrons from the inlinkz at the end of this post. Enjoy your Sunday evening, till my next post πŸ˜‰
