Red and White Ombre Nails

ImageHello lovelies, over the past weekend I wore this awesome ombre and I spiced it up yesterday with some stamping.

Can you believe it, this ombre is done only with 2 nail polishes. Yes only with 2! The other day I was fishing for some inspiration and found a tutorial (which I can’t seem to find at the moment 😦 ) for doing ombre with 2 polishes.

How I managed to achieve this, well.. I wanted to try out my Long Kiss by China Glaze and oh how amazing this red is (will do a swatch soon). Since I don’t have enough shades atm to go from red to white I decided to mix this red with Blanc by Essie.

For my ring fingers I used 3 drops on white and 1 drop of red. For middle fingers there’s 2 drops of white and 2 drops of red. For my index fingers I used 3 drops of red and 1 drop of white. For mixing I used the pointy end of my marbling tool (toothpick is fine too). For applying these shades I used flat nail art brush. I am wearing 2 coats of polish on each of my fingers.

Polishes used:

  • Blanc by Essie
  • Long Kiss by Chin Glaze
  • Coin Flip by Sally Hansen (for stamps)

ImageI am super pleased how the ombre effect came out. Got few more photos. The stamping plate is from Born Pretty store and I have to say, the quality of it is amazing and such a good price.

And now the final design. Sorry I couldn’t align all the stamps but I’m still pleased and slightly amazed that Coin Flip stamped so well. There are some weird shades like I have polish on my cuticles, that’s actually cuticle oil. Let me know what you think 😉
